Whatcouldpossiblyhaveendedthetight-knitthirtyyearfriendshipofTullyandKate,our"FireflyLaneGirlsForever"?We’lllearntheanswerthisseason--butfirst--KategrappleswiththepainfulaftermathofJohnny’sill-fatedtriptoIraq,whileTullyfacesalawsuitafterwalkingawayfromhertalkshow,andmuststarthercareeroverfromthebottom.Thisleadshertosearchforanswersaboutwhosheisandwhereshecomesfrom--includingaquesttofindthefathershenevermet,againstthewishesofhersecretivehippiemother,Cloud.Inthe’80s,weseeKateandJohnnyfirstfallinlove,creatingmorethanalittledramainthenewsroomwheretheywork,asTully’scareerrisesandshespars(andflirts!)withcockysportscasterDannyDiaz.Shejustmighthavemethermatch--thatis,iftheycanstoparguingforfiveminutes.Whileinthe’70s,teenageKateandTullystruggletokeeptheirfriendshiptogetherasCloudgoestojailfordealingdrugsandTullygoestolivewithhergrandmother,farawayfromFireflyLane.Asthegirlsfacethetumultofhighschoolapart,theyknowtheonethingtheyreallyneediseachother.
